What is a CareerPrepped Skill Builder?

A Skill Builder is an interactive learning experience focused on specific skills that are important for career success, no matter what type of career you want. Skill Builders have three main parts described below:

  1. Reflect & Practice – This part of a Skill Builder provides a personalized learning experience in which the specific skill addressed is defined in concrete terms, practical tips and strategies are provided to practice the skill in the real world, and skill challenges are provided to let you put the skill to practice and generate portfolio evidence if you need help in producing evidence that you have applied the skill.
  2. Engage & Connect – This part of a Skill Builder is a discussion forum. It's a peer-to-peer, social learning component enabling you to discuss a specific skill in a dedicated area with community members, share advice, resources, articles, videos, or anything else related to the skill. You can browse the reflections others have shared and learn from others. 
  3. Claim Badge – Every Skill Builder has a Skill Badge which is a digital representation of a skill claim backed by evidence you provide. You can claim a Skill Badge if you believe you have the skill, want it to be recognized, and are ready to back up your claim with evidence.
